Midterm

This project was inspired by Ye by Kanye West. I was experiencing a depressive episode, the worst i have ever personally experienced and was exploring ways to bring myself out of it. I attempted several shows, movies, and albums. Late on that Sunday night/ Monday morning I started listening to Ye. Almost immediately the spark to create a visual version of the album came to me. I spent the next hour or so creating the mock ups and starting the process of planning the necessary shots. Some shots were taken in TCNJ classrooms sneaking into rooms and using them until interrupted by a meeting or class. My friend Joely is the female subject in these photos. Music besides Ye was also a key part of the creation process anywhere I was music drove me there.  Album found here     ...

The following are sketches of the original concept for my midterm project. The idea comes from a recent depressive episode, I was listening to albums trying to exorcise the depression an one of the albums was a short 7 songs, and they resonated with me in the moment. I was sparked with creativity and created these sketches. My final midterm is based on these conceptual drawings.

And in discipline after discipline, that is going to be the key question separating the two types of innovator." -David Galenson I am an experimentalist working with new tools to discover what I can built with them. That has been the basic nature of my work up to today. These projects required a little more forethought. I made some adjustments to the color of the overall  piece. Adding shade to the whole landscape and declaring the focal point. The focal point sits near a juncture of the structure grid and needed little adjustment. I added an energy pellet in the form of a shad...
