After Before
I had fun with this one playing with some tools, and localizing the effect instead of simply layering the effects over the whole image. This was the last image I worked on for this post.
Before After
Beta Ray Bill is a personal favorite comic book character. All the powers of Thor but he had to beat Thor in a fight to get them. Either way I once used phone apps to create a similar effect on the image I use as my phone wallpaper. Because it is an AMOLED screen there is significant battery performance improvements for dark near black images because it actually allows the pixel to turn off using little to no energy. I wanted to get the background of this photo as dark as possible and preserve enough detail to capture the artistry of the character design.

The Super Blood Wolf Moon this year was an impressive sight but image of it was not. This edit was an attempt to recapture some of the impressiveness of the actual moon. It falls short of the real thing but is an improvement over my original image.
